The Different Types of Plumbing. There are three different types of plumbing systems; sanitary drainage, stormwater drainage and potable water. Each of these systems have their own unique functions and purposes.

Plumbers and the plumbing industry help us optimize our water usage through technology and water management. They work to ensure there's always enough water to go around. They also play an important role in taking actions such as harvesting rainwater, desalination, wastewater treatment, and water reuse.

Upon completion of an apprenticeship program, the Ministry issues a Certificate of Apprenticeship. This trade has a certifying exam. Upon passing the certifying exam, Skilled Trades Ontario issues a Certificate of Qualification in this trade.
